Have You Read Any Good Books Lately?

The Beatles had a point, "You say you want a revolution, well you know, we all want to change the world!"
So what educational revolution do you see in your future. For me the introduction to using digital communication has been a revolution. The ideas that social networking, designing instruction through media devises, creation of learning spaces that are virtual, and collaborative problem solving are an intricate part of learning today has revolutionized my world!
My teaching has changed.
My thinking has changed.
My connections have changed.
But most importantly the locus for learning has changed.
I am not the giver of knowledge anymore but simply a conduit to it.
I am becoming a curator.
Selecting, building, supporting inquiry, guiding self study, and connecting are my new verbs.
I have recently come across a book entitled: Pencil Me In: A Journey in the Fight for Graphite by John T. Spencer. After listening to a rebroadcast of a chat with the author I started to wonder if this book just might be a great book study. This could cross all lines of position. I would love to put something together that included students, teachers, parents, community members...anyone who would like to look at this new revolution of technology as it pertains to education.
Join me wont you?
